[ARCHIVED] Job Opportunity - Senior Center Manager

The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Center Manager.  

Summary:  Plans, organizes, and directs comprehensive programs and activities for Senior Citizens at the Senior Center.  Manages daily operations at the Senior Center. 

Representative Duties and Responsibilities:  The list is not intended to be all-inclusive nor exclusive, but is intended to provide examples of typical duties performed. A full job description is available upon request.

  • Studies and analyzes recreational needs and resources for Senior Citizens.
  • Assists Parks and Recreation Director in conducting market research and developing short- and long-range goals and objectives.
  • Schedules maintenance and use of facilities.
  • Schedules all programs and activities for Senior Citizens.
  • Coordinates programs and services with local agencies on aging and service providers for Senior Citizens.
  • Purchases equipment and services from outside vendors.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with service and equipment vendors.
  • Works with staff as well as contract program providers.  
  • Studies and complies with all applicable government regulations.
  • Develops and maintains relations with other Senior Center providers in community.
  • Plans trips and drives Senior Center members to area events and places of interests.

Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree plus one to two years related experience and/or training; Master’s Degree in a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:  Commercial Driver's License 

The compensation range for this position is $40,590.23 to $56,534.62. The City of Pelham also offers an excellent benefits package and is a member of the Retirement Systems of Alabama.
