The Pelham Dog Park will be closed July 13th - August 4th for a major improvement project.
Earlier this year, the City Council approved funding for the addition of eight shade sails inside the dog park. Struthers Recreation, a Pelham-based company, will install two, 20x20 and six, 12x12 shades over the course of the next week-and-a-half. The closure is weather-dependent.
"This is a nearly $58,000 investment for one of our most popular park spaces," said D. Tyrell McGirt, Parks and Recreation Director. "We are eager to see this project completed and thank the city council for approving the necessary funding."
Should the installation be delayed due to weather, updates will be posted on the Parks & Recreation Facebook page.
